Congolese Refugees Get Aid
March 27, 1999
Kampala - The Italian Embassy has donated 1000 mosquito nets to Congolese
refugees at Kyangwali settlement camp in Hoima to check malaria spread among
them. The programme coordinator International Service Volunteers Organisation
(AVSI), Mr. Steven Hind, said the refugees are faced with a threat of malaria
epidemic due to their lack of natural immunity to the disease.
Nearly 3000 Congolese refugees fleeing war in the Congo are settled at the camp.
