BUREAU FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FISHING
DECREE No. N-005, OF JANUARY 31, 1986

    

THE SUPERINTENDENT FOR THE BUREAU FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FISHING-SUDEPE, 
making use of the attributions conferred him in Article 10, Paragraph I, 
of Decree No.73.632 of February 13, 1974, taking into account that which 
was set forth in Article 33, §2nd, of Decree-Law No. 221, of February 28, 
1967, and the contents of Process S/08800/73,

DECIDES

Art. 1st - To prohibit the hunting of any sea turtle species;

    Sole Paragraph: It is hereby forbidden to disturb the sea turtles in 
their nesting sites as well as to collect their eggs.

Art. 2nd - The infractors of this Decree will suffer the penalties 
foreseen in Decree-Law No. 221, of February 28, 1967, and other 
complementary legislation.

Art. 3rd - This Decree will be in force on the date of its publication, 
all dispositions to the contrary being hereby revoked, especially Decree 
No. 005, of February 7, 1984.
