Congo President Kabila In Libya

SYRTE, Libya (PANA) - The president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Laurent
-Desire Kabila, is in Libya where he arrived Sunday.
Kabila, who arrived here from Paris where he attended the France- Africa summit, traveled in his presidential plane, in violation of the air embargo imposed against that country by the UN security council on 15 April, 1992 in connection with the Lockerbie affair.
Shortly after his arrival in Syrte, 450 km east of Tripoli, the DRC leader was received by the Libyan leader, Col. Moammar Kadhafi. According to the Libyan television, Kabila briefed Kadhafi on "the latest situation in the Great Lakes region and the coflict in DRC."
The talks between the two leaders were also attended by the Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, who arrived in Syrte Saturday.
