BAGUNÇAÇO
- CIA ECO PERCUSSIVA

BAGUNÇAÇO is a percussion band, made up of children and adolescents who use instruments that they make themselves out of recycled containers. Carburetors shells , butter tins, kerosene cans and imported cookie tins are transformed into drums and guitars - and into music. The Group Bagunçaço leads a larger cultural movement whose central strategy is to harness the creative energy of children and to bring them together for music and other cultural and educational events. It grew out of Alagados, one of the marginalized swampland communities of Salvador. There the group brings together smaller, spontaneously formed other musical groups, forming an association of young musicians. The group also implements various educational activities for the children and adolescents who participate, such as theater and recycling workshops, and community work including a school, daycare center, medical service and the production of alternative medicines.
